Board of Elections
The mission of the Schuyler County Board of Elections is to provide election services, information and education to the residents of Schuyler County so that they can exercise their right to vote and have confidence that the elections are fair, impartial, and accurate.

UPCOMING DEADLINES
February 20, 2026 – List of Registered Voters published.
February 24, 2026 – First day to circulate Designating Petitions for the June Primary. First day to hold a Town Caucus.
March 21, 2026 – First day for signing OTB (Opportunity to Ballot) petitions.
March 30, 2026 – First day to file designating petitions.
April 2, 2026 – Last for circulating designating petitions.
April 6, 2026 – Last day to file designating petitions.
The Schuyler County Board of Elections will be open from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm from Monday, March 30, 2026 through Monday April 6, 2026 for filing. (The office will be closed Good Friday, April 3rd.)
April 10, 2026 – Last day to accept or decline designation. Last day to authorize designation. (Office hours are 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.)
April 13, 2026 – Last day for member of committee to receive notices to file acceptance (OTB).
April 14, 2026 – First day for signing independent nominating petitions. Last day to fill a vacancy after a declination of designation.
April 16, 2026 – Last day to file OTB petition if designated candidate has declined.
April 20, 2026 – Last day for member of committee to receive notices to file acceptance if declination filed by candidate (OTB). Last day to file authorization of substitution after declination of a designation.
April 29, 2026 – Certification of primary ballot by State Board of Elections of designations filed in its office.
April 30, 2026 – Certification of primary ballot by County Board of Elections of designations filed in its office.
May 19, 2026 – First day for filing independent nominating petitions.
May 26, 2026 – Last day for filing independent nominating petitions.
The Schuyler County Board of Elections will be open from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm from Tuesday, May 19, 2026, through Tuesday May 26, 2026, for filing. (The office will be closed Memorial Day, May 25th)
May 29, 2026 – Last day to accept or decline nomination.
June 1, 2026 – Last day to fill vacancy after declination.
