[ARCHIVED] Free Safe Server Training on June 24

Flyer with details about the upcoming training and how to RSVP

The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office, Schuyler County Coalition on Underage Drinking and Drugs (SCCUDD), and Schuyler County Public Health are partnering to promote a free safe server training that is available to restaurants, wineries, and other alcohol retailers. The training is provided to businesses at no cost, and it can help lower insurance premiums.

The next FAIR training will take place on June 24th at 9 AM in the Human Services Complex Room 120 in Montour Falls. Interested individuals should RSVP by calling 607-535-8140.

The training provides an establishment’s employees with knowledge and skills to help prevent unlawful sales of alcohol. According to the Sheriff’s Office, their Fundamentals of Alcohol Intoxication Recognition (FAIR) training teaches staff who serve alcohol:

  • How to verify that identification is legal and correct
  • How to properly check for proof of age
  • How alcohol affects the drinker
  • Customer relations
  • Ways of preventing lawsuits
  • Alternative marketing techniques

Community members and businesses can learn more about the FAIR training by visiting: https://schuylercounty.us/1175/Sheriffs-Office-FAIR-Training.
