Home delivered meals are an economical long term care service and can often substitute for or delay the need for more extensive services. Home delivered meal service is a key component of in-home services for elderly New Yorkers who require long-term care support for a chronic condition or for post-hospital nutritional assistance.
Recipients must be assessed for need and must meet certain criteria including the inability to prepare own meals or to leave the home to shop for food, be incapacitated due to accident, illness or frailty and must be age 60 or older.
Home Delivered Meals are provided on a donation basis. The requested donation per meal is $3.00.
